How do I add special font effects, colors, and styles to a specific survey question?

Format text in a specific survey question

While editing a survey draft, you can customize the font in a specific question with the steps below.


 

Before Formatting a Survey Question

Only format font in an individual question if you like the colors you've chosen for the survey as a whole. Global Color & Font selections won't overwrite or replace an individual questions' font settings.

Keep in mind that HTML tags don't work to format survey text at this time.

Font Color

To change the font color in a specific survey question:

  1. Click the Edit icon Edit on the Question Block you want to edit.
  2. Highlight the words you want to reformat in the Question Text.
  3. Click the color change icon Select a Color icon on the Question Text toolbar.
  4. In the color picker that displays, select the color you wish to use. Select a color or enter the hex value of the color you wish to use.
  5. Click Use New Color.

Note: Link colors can't be changed at this time.

Font Family or Size

To change the font family or size of font in a specific survey question:

  1. Click the Edit icon Edit on the Question Block you want to edit.
  2. Highlight the words you want to reformat in the Question Text.
  3. Click the Font Family or Font Size drop-down menu and select a font family or point size.

Note: If a contact's computer can't display the font you select, it will appear in a substitute font instead.

Word Emphasis

To emphasize words in a specific survey question:

  1. Click the Edit icon Edit on the Question Block you want to edit.
  2. In the Question Text box, highlight the words you want to emphasize and click a formatting icon on the Question Text toolbar:
  • To bold the highlighted words, click the Bold Bold iconicon.
  • To italicize the highlighted words, click the Italics Italics icon (I)icon.
  • To underline the highlighted words, click the Underline Underline iconicon. 
    NoteThe underline will not match the color of the word if you underline the word after you change the word's color. To make the color of the underline match the color of the word, underline the word before applying a new color to it.
  • To undo all text formatting from a block (colors, fonts, and text size), click Remove Block Formatting.

Note: Text alignment in survey questions can't be changed.
