Find the best time to send emails
The best time to send varies with the demographics of your recipients, and getting your email in front of your contacts when they are most likely to see it will help improve your open rates.
Tip: No matter what time you send, always set your customers' expectations for how often you will be sending and let them know ahead of time if you change it.
Keep in mind that these are general industry guidelines. Once you've sent a couple of emails, you'll see a suggested best time to send on the schedule page based on your own contacts' habits.

Your contact list is unique and getting to know the habits of your contacts can help get your email in front of your contacts when they're most likely to check their email.
Example: When a career counselor realized her audience reads her emails after work hours, she tried sending at 6 pm instead of 11 am. Her open rates increased because her emails appeared at the top of her contacts' inboxes when they got home.
Use the following methods to better target your send time for your contacts:
- Use the Next Best Time to Send Option - When you schedule and send an email we automatically calculate the best time to send your email based on your contacts' open history. If you don't have enough history yet, we default to general industry trends to help you land in your contacts' inbox at the right time.
- Trends from Past Emails - Take a look at the Opens reports for your past emails and see if you notice any patterns. You may even notice habits with specific contacts - try tagging them and sending them targeted emails.
- Test to See What Works - A popular way to find the best time to send is with an AB Test, where you send the same email to two different groups of contacts at different times and then compare your results. Use the industry open times above as a baseline and experiment to find the best time for your specific contact list.
Note: Keep in mind that the size of your list can affect how long it takes your email to reach your contacts' email clients.
